Gyral Vessels Terms and Conditions

Not a navigation tool

Gyral Vessels is for information and situational awareness only. It is not a navigation aid and must not be used for navigation, passage planning, or any decision affecting safety of life or property. Vessel positions come from third-party AIS feeds and may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong — a vessel can disappear from the map while it is still under way. Never use Gyral Vessels for navigation or collision avoidance. Always rely on official, up-to-date charts and proper marine navigation equipment.

"As is", no warranty

Gyral Vessels is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Third-party data

Much of what Gyral Vessels displays comes from third parties, including terrestrial AIS receiver networks, OpenStreetMap, GeoNames, Wikidata, the UN/LOCODE and NGA World Port Index, Wikimedia Commons, and Apple Maps. We do not control these sources and do not guarantee the continuous availability, timeliness, or accuracy of any third-party feed. Outages, gaps, delays, and errors originating upstream are outside our control. Your use of that data is also subject to the providers' own terms and licenses, listed on the in-app Data Sources screen.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gyral LLC is not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, Gyral Vessels or its data.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the app or its backend services — including attempts to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access.

Intellectual property

The Gyral Vessels name, app, and original content are owned by Gyral LLC. Third-party data is owned by its respective providers and used under their licenses (see the in-app Data Sources screen).

App license

Your license to install and use Gyral Vessels is granted under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to apps obtained from the App Store. The terms on this page are in addition to it and cover matters specific to Gyral Vessels.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington.
